HI, we are (2).png

Welcome

FROM YOUR PERSONAL HYPE WOMEN, DRESS ADJUSTERS, AND OCCASIONAL EMOTIONAL SUPPORT TEAM

We’re Liz and Brenna—a mother-daughter duo who are somehow very much the same person and very much complete opposites at the same time. We share a love of creativity, beautiful things, and, naturally, finding a good place to stop for lunch whenever we’re working together. When we aren’t talking about dresses, you can probably find us thrifting together, which is really just another excuse to hunt for something beautiful and bring it home.

Brenna’s love of creativity actually started with her mom. Liz has always had a creative streak, and when Brenna was little, she would sketch things out while Liz brought those ideas to life—often by sewing them herself. Looking back, it’s pretty fitting that so much of what we do together now started with the two of us making things side-by-side.

But Edelweiss wasn’t our first adventure together.

A few years ago, a dear friend of ours, Felicia, was trying to find the perfect place for her son’s first birthday. She couldn’t find a venue that felt like what she envisioned, so she called us. One idea turned into another, and suddenly Gild + Gather was born—a little intimate event venue in Pasadena, Texas.

That season gave us our very first glimpse into the wedding world. Felicia and Liz worked closely with clients through consultations and the administrative side of things, while Brenna helped plan and execute the events. And all of us? We decorated, made desserts, hosted parties, solved last-minute problems, and most importantly, got to know the people who trusted us with their celebrations.

And honestly, the people were our favorite part.

When Gild + Gather eventually closed during the uncertainty of COVID, it was bittersweet. Events were struggling, and after putting everything we had into the business, we knew it was time to let that chapter close. We missed it, but we also knew we had given it our all—and sometimes the right thing is simply knowing when one season has finished.

We just didn’t know another one was already waiting for us.

And then, there was Utah.

On a girls’ trip with Mom and all the sisters, we started noticing something: Utah had a whole world of modest bridal shops.

And as a family with a lot of girls, we were intrigued.

But as we looked around, we kept thinking the same thing: We would want something a little different.

So, naturally, we decided to take a spin at it ourselves.

And that’s how Edelweiss began to bloom.

We chose the name Edelweiss after the little flower known for its symbolism of deep love and purity—and for its ability to grow in harsh, difficult environments. It felt like the perfect picture of what we wanted for our brides: something beautiful, meaningful, and strong enough to withstand whatever life brings.

And yes, it’s also the name of a song from The Sound of Music, which happened to be a classic in our home growing up. So really, it was meant to be.

We started contacting designers—many of whom we’re still blessed to work with today—and opened our very first pop-up shop. The first gown we ever sold was the “Felicia,” a boho-inspired lace gown with a V-neckline.

And from there, Edelweiss became something we never could have planned.

But “us” is bigger than Liz + Brenna.

Today, Edelweiss is a small team of people who genuinely care about the women who walk through our doors. Liz and Brenna are at the heart of it all, with Riley helping bring the Edelweiss world to life through social media.

But when we say “us,” we mean our brides, too.

Over the years, we’ve watched women come to us with an idea, a Pinterest board, a few screenshots, or sometimes absolutely no idea at all—and we get to help turn that into their dress.

Because we believe modesty is personal. It doesn’t look exactly the same on every bride, and we don’t believe you should have to sacrifice your personal style to honor your own standards.

That’s why we work for you.

We want to know what you love, what you don’t, what makes you feel beautiful, and what you never want to compromise on. Then we help you build a gown that feels like it was made with you in mind.

And somewhere along the way, something really special happens.

Our brides stop feeling like clients.

We become connected. We get invited into their wedding days, watch their photos come back, hear about their lives after the wedding, and sometimes get to watch their stories continue long after they’ve picked up their gown.

That’s the part we never expected when we started Edelweiss.

We thought we were going to sell beautiful dresses.

Instead, we found a community.

So welcome to Edelweiss—from your personal hype women, dress adjusters, creative collaborators, and occasional emotional support team.

We’re so glad you’re here.

And more than anything, we hope that when you leave us, you remember this:

You were beautiful before you put on the gown. We’re just here to help your dress reflect it.

BEAUTIFULLY YOURS. NEVER COMPROMISED.  BEAUTIFULLY YOURS. NEVER COMPROMISED.
